Getting started: clubs and event organisers

Horsify

Welcome to Horsify! This guide takes you from a brand-new account to your first event taking entries. Do it in order, at your own pace. Each step has a link to a full how-to in our Help Centre if you'd like more detail.

Where things are: everything below is in the organiser menu (the menu button at the top of the screen once you're signed in). Your Organiser Dashboard also has a Getting started checklist that ticks itself off as you go.

Your plan at a glance

Club Site Your club website at yourclub.horsify.club, events with online entries, memberships and email. $10 a month or $100 a year, with a 30-day free trial.

Part 1: Set up (about an hour)

Step 1. Finish your organisation profile

Organiser menu, then Organisation, then the Profile tab. Add your logo, your contact email, phone and address. Horsify's notices and reminders go to this email, so make it one somebody reads.

Step 2. Connect Stripe so you can take payments online

Organisation, then Profile, then scroll to Payment Integration, then Connect Stripe. Choose Set up Stripe Connect with Horsify (recommended). Stripe asks for your ABN, ID and the bank account for payouts. Money from entries, memberships and your store goes straight to your club's bank account. How-to: Stripe account management

Step 3. Bring your members across

Organiser menu, then People, then Members, then Import. Upload your spreadsheet (.xlsx or .csv), match the columns, review and import. No invitation emails are sent, and blanks like "N/A" or "TBC" are tidied up for you. How-to: Importing and adding members and Member management

Step 4. Switch on your club website (Club Site plans)

Organiser menu, then Settings, then Club Site. Tick Enable Club Site, choose your address (for example myclub gives you myclub.horsify.club), and save. Then pick a theme and build your pages from ready-made blocks. How-to: Club website setup and Theme editor

Step 5. Give your committee access

Add committee members and choose what each person can see and do, so the treasurer sees finances and your events person sees events. How-to: Committee members and Staff access: who can do what

Part 2: Run your first event

Step 6. Create the event

Organiser menu, then Events. Create the listing, add your classes, sessions and tickets, and set up the entry form. Then publish so riders can enter. How-to: Running an event, start to finish

Step 7. Manage entries

Watch entries come in, approve or reject them, and export entry lists. Set entry limits and a waitlist if classes fill up. How-to: View registrations, Entry limits, Event waitlist

Step 8. Build your draw and run the day

Generate the running order, adjust it and publish it to riders. On the day, handle scratchings and late entries and keep riders informed. How-to: Running an event, start to finish

Step 9. Enter and publish results

Score each class, finalise placings and publish results to your public page and season leaderboards. How-to: Event results and, for dressage, Setting up dressage scoring

  • Ask us from inside Horsify: tap the Help bubble in the bottom right corner. Search first, and if you don't find your answer, fill in the short form in the same panel. That logs a support ticket and we reply by email.
