Overview
The read-only Informational Text field type lets you drop a notice, instruction, disclaimer or compliance statement into a form, without asking the participant for anything. It renders as a tinted, bordered panel wherever you place it in the form.
It's available in the Entry Form Builder and the Entry Form Template Builder, which is where your club's public membership application form is built.
Who Should Use This Feature
Perfect For
- Event organisers needing to display important event rules or safety notices mid-form
- Club administrators embedding conditions of membership or age-eligibility notices
- Associations adding regulatory disclaimers or compliance statements to application forms
Prerequisites
- You must be an admin of your organisation
- Access to the Entry Form Builder or the Entry Form Template Builder
Key Features
π Read-Only Display Block
The Informational Text field renders as a tinted panel within the form.
The Label is the notice. There is no separate body-text box β whatever you type into Label is what participants read. Write the full sentence there, not a heading.
Because it asks for nothing, the editor hides the options that would make no sense: there is no help text, no Required tick box and no data source. The field can never be required and never collects an answer.
Formatting: the text is shown exactly as you typed it. HTML is not interpreted β it would appear as literal tags β so write plain sentences.
You can place it anywhere in the form, in the same way as any other field.
π Supported Form Types
The Informational Text field type is available in:
| Form Type | Use Case |
|---|---|
| Event Entry Forms | Display rules, prize money conditions, or safety notices |
| Membership Application Forms | Show terms, eligibility criteria, or code of conduct |
| Custom Dynamic Forms | Any other dynamic form you build with the form builder |
How to Use
Adding an Informational Text Block
- Open the Entry Form Builder for your event (or the membership application form)
- Click Add Field
- Select Information (Informational Text) from the field type list β its icon is an info circle
- In Label, type the notice itself, in full and in plain text
- Set the field's position in the form
- Save the form
Example Use Cases
Each of these goes in the Label box, word for word:
- Prize money conditions: "Prize money will be paid within 7 days by bank transfer. Eligibility requires current club membership."
- Age eligibility: "This class is open to riders under 18 as at 1 January of the competition year."
- Payment note: "Entries close at midnight on the Thursday before the event. Late entries are taken on the day at the higher fee."
If you need the rider to actively agree to something rather than just read it, use a Conditions of Entry or Waiver field instead β an Informational Text block records no acknowledgement.
