SEO Keywords Guide for Club Management & Event Organisers

    Recommended search keywords for organisations and event organisers using Horsify to improve discoverability.

    Overview

    This guide is a vocabulary list. It suggests the words riders actually type when they're looking for a club, an event or a lesson, so you can use those words where they count — in your titles, your descriptions and the text on your pages.

    Read this before you start. Google and every other major search engine have ignored the keywords meta tag since 2009, because it was abused. Horsify still has a SEO Keywords field and still publishes what you put in it, but filling it in will not move you up the rankings on its own. Treat it as a place to record your terms, and treat the rest of this guide as advice on the words to put in your SEO Title, SEO Description, headings and body copy — which do count.

    Where These Fields Live

    Organisation Profile

    Open your organisation, click Edit details, and find the SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) Settings card:

    • SEO Title — the page title in search results
    • SEO Description — the summary shown beneath it, and the description used on your club hub at horsify.com.au/clubs/{your-slug}
    • SEO Keywords — comma-separated; published on your club site's pages
    • Description — your main organisation description, shown on your profile and used to build the generated search snippet on your club site

    Event Listings

    In the event editor, open the Search listing section ("How the event appears in Google and other search results"):

    • Search title — the event title for search engines
    • Search description — the event summary for search results
    • Keywords — event-specific terms
    • Description — your main event description, which is the text search engines actually read

    Venues

    The venue editor has the same three SEO fields for your venue's public page.

    The same card also has a List this venue in search checkbox, ticked unless the venue has been taken off the listing. While it's ticked, the venue shows on the Venues page and the state venue pages, and Google can index its page. Untick it for a placeholder or a private property. Organisers can still pick the venue for an event either way. Anyone who can edit the venue can change this setting, and the Venues page can take up to 10 minutes to catch up.

    Club Site Pages

    Each page in your club site has its own SEO Title and SEO Description in the page settings panel. There is no keywords field there — the organisation-level keywords are used instead.     Note that the title and description carry the discipline, the year and the location. That is where the work is being done — the keywords line is a record of your terms, not a ranking lever.

    Measuring Keyword Success

    Track These Metrics

    1. Event registrations — are entries increasing? Your organiser analytics show this.
    2. Member enquiries — are you getting more membership questions?

    Horsify does not report per-profile page views, so Search Console is the tool to use for search performance.

    Review and Update
