Overview
Plans change. Horsify gives you two ways to pull out of an event you've entered:
- Scratch a class: drop one class or division and keep the rest of your entry. You can do this yourself while entries are still open.
- Cancel your entry: withdraw from the whole event. You send a cancellation request, and the organiser approves or declines it.
Neither one refunds you automatically. Refunds are decided by each organiser under their event's refund policy. See Getting a Refund for an Event Entry.
Scratching One Class (Keeping the Rest of Your Entry)
You can do this while entries are open. Once entries close, contact the organiser to change your entry.
- Go to My registrations (in your account menu) and click View details on the entry.
- In your list of classes, click Scratch next to the class you want to drop.
- Read the confirmation. If the class has an entry fee, it tells you how much it costs and that scratching doesn't refund it automatically.
- Add a reason if you like (the organiser can see it).
- Click Scratch class. Changed your mind? Click Keep it.
You're withdrawn from that class and an updated invoice is emailed to you.
Good to know:
- You can't scratch your only class. Horsify asks you to cancel the whole entry instead (see below).
- Already paid for the class? Scratching doesn't give the money back on its own. If you think you're owed a refund, contact the organiser.
- Want a different class rather than none? At some events the organiser lets you swap. If so, you'll see Change next to each class, where you can pick another class or horse. If the new class costs less and you've already paid, the difference comes back to you as club credit with that club, not to your card. If it costs more, the difference is added to your entry and you can pay it from the same page.
- Need another class? Click Add a class on the same page. The fee is added to your entry and you can pay it there.
Cancelling Your Whole Entry
- Go to My registrations and find the entry under Active Registrations.
- Click Cancel entry.
- The Cancel Registration? box names the event (and the rider, if you're cancelling for a family member). Cancelling one rider doesn't affect anyone else in your family entered at the same event.
- Add a reason if you like, then click Yes, Cancel.
Your entry changes to Pending Cancellation and the organiser is notified. Nothing else happens until they act on it:
- If they approve it, your entry is cancelled and your place is released. If you paid online by card, whatever is left of the card payment for that entry goes back to your card (anything already refunded, for example for a scratched class, isn't refunded twice; if you paid for several family members in one payment, only this rider's share comes back), and any club credit you used on it is restored. A bank transfer or cash payment isn't refunded through Horsify, so talk to the organiser about it.
- If they decline it, your entry goes back to Confirmed.
You can see the status on My registrations at any time. Your entry's details page also says "Your cancellation request is pending review by the event organiser" while you wait.

Frequently Asked Questions
I can't see the Cancel entry button. It only shows on entries for events that haven't finished yet, and not on entries that are already cancelled or waiting on a cancellation request.
I can't see the Scratch button. Entries for the event have closed (or haven't opened yet), or the entry is cancelled or waiting on a cancellation request. Contact the organiser.
I asked to cancel but now I want to keep my entry. Contact the organiser and ask them to decline your cancellation request. Until they act on it, you can't enter the same event again.
The organiser cancelled the event. Do I need to do anything? No. You'll be told the event is off, and if you've paid, that the organiser will arrange your refund. Refunds for a cancelled event are made by the organiser, so contact them if yours hasn't arrived. If you haven't paid, nothing is owing.
