Overview

This guide walks you through entering an event on Horsify: finding the event, choosing your sessions or classes and your horse, and paying. Most entries take a few minutes. You'll need a free Horsify account to finish, but you can sign in or create one along the way without losing what you've chosen.

Before You Start

  • Add your horse to your profile first if you can. It saves typing and keeps your horse's health declarations, movement records and results together. See Adding Your Horse. If you forget, you can add the horse from the entry form instead (see Step 3).
  • Entering your children too? You can enter several riders in one order and pay once. See Entering Your Family in One Order.

How to Enter

Step 1: Find the event

Go to the events page and open the event you want. The event page shows the dates, venue, prices and, where the organiser has set one, the event's Refund Policy. It's worth reading that before you enter.

Step 2: Start your entry

In the registration panel on the event page, click Register for event.

What you see instead tells you where the event is at:

  • Opens with a date, or Registration opens soon: entries aren't open yet. Come back on that date.
  • Registrations closed or Event full: you can't enter, but if you're signed in you can click Join waitlist. See Event Waitlist.
  • Additional registrations: you've already entered this event. Use it to enter someone else, such as a family member.
  • A button that takes you to another website, or Email to register: this organiser takes entries outside Horsify, so follow their instructions there.

Step 3: Fill in the entry form

  1. Under Registering as, choose who is riding: you, or a family member on your account.
  2. Choose your sessions or tickets, and your classes or divisions if the event has them. A class that has reached its limit shows as full, with a waitlist option.
  3. Choose your horse from the list. Horses shared with you appear there too.
    • Horse not on your profile? Click Add a horse to my profile. Fill in its show name (plus sex, breed and date of birth if you like) and click Add horse to my profile. The horse is saved to My Horses and picked for you, and everything else you've chosen on the form stays as it was.
    • Not signed in? You'll see Sign in to choose your horse. Sign in or create an account and you're brought straight back to the form.
    • You can also choose Other and type the horse's details, but adding it to your profile is better: it keeps its health declarations and results linked. See "Other Horse" Nomination Support.
  4. Answer any questions the organiser has added to the entry form.
  5. Click Review in Cart. (To enter another rider in the same order, click Add another rider first.)

Step 4: Check out and pay

  1. In your cart, check each rider's entries and the total.
  2. If you're not signed in, click Sign in to checkout.
  3. Choose how to pay. You'll only see the options this organiser accepts, which can include card, Bank Transfer or Cash on day. Each option shows any fee added to it and the total you'll pay.
  4. Tick the box to agree to the Terms and Conditions. It also confirms that cancellations and refunds are handled by each organiser under the policy shown on their event page.
  5. Click Continue to Payment. If you're paying by card, you finish on Stripe's secure payment screen. If nothing is owing (for example a free event, or club credit covers it), the button reads Confirm Registration instead.

Once it's done, your entry appears on My registrations.

After You've Entered

Your entries are listed on My registrations (in your account menu). Each one shows its status:

Status What it means
Confirmed You're in.
Pending The organiser checks entries by hand for this event and hasn't approved yours yet.
Pending Payment Your entry is waiting on payment. Click Complete payment to finish it.
Waitlisted You're on the waitlist, not entered yet.
Pending Cancellation You've asked to cancel and the organiser hasn't actioned it yet.
Cancelled The entry is no longer active.

Click View details on an entry to see your classes, invoice, payments and the event's refund and cancellation policy. While entries are open you can also add or scratch classes from there. See Withdrawing From an Event or Scratching a Class.

Frequently Asked Questions

I started paying but didn't finish. Do I need to start again? No. Open My registrations and click Complete payment on the entry, or go to your cart, where a Finish your payment panel lets you pick up where you left off.

The cart says I already have an entry for this event. You can't enter the same rider twice in one event. If you want different classes, change the entry you already have. If you're entering a child, choose them under Registering as rather than entering again under your own name.

The cart says "Waiting on the organiser". You've asked to cancel your earlier entry for this event and the organiser hasn't actioned it yet. Your place is still held, so a second entry can't be made until they do.

Can I get a refund if I can't go? That's up to the organiser and their refund policy. See Getting a Refund for an Event Entry.
