Overview

You use one Horsify account for everything: entering events, booking lessons, looking after your horses and, if you run one, managing your club or riding school. You don't need a password. Horsify can email you a 6-digit code each time you sign in, or you can use a passkey on your phone or computer.

To get started, click Sign In at the top of the Horsify website. The page that opens is called Welcome to Horsify and has two tabs: Sign in and Create account.

Create Your Account

  1. Click Sign In, then choose the Create account tab.
  2. Enter your Email, First name and Last name.
  3. Tick the box to confirm you're 15 or older and agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
  4. Click Create account. We email you a 6-digit code.
  5. On the Check your email screen, enter the code under Enter your 6-digit code and click Create account & sign in.

That's it: your account is created and you're signed in. There's no password to set and no separate "verify your email" link, because entering the code confirms your email address.

You might then see Set up a passkey. A passkey lets you sign in next time with your fingerprint, face or device PIN. Set one up now, or click Skip for now and do it later (see Sign In with a Passkey).

Riders under 15 don't create their own account. A parent or guardian adds them as a rider on their own account instead (see Entering Your Family in One Order).

Tip: use the email address your club already has for you. If a club has already added you under that email, signing in with it connects you to what they've set up (see Auto-Link Member to Rider Profile).

Running a club or riding school?

Everyone signs up the same way now: you don't choose between "rider" and "organiser". Create your own account first, then set up your organisation on the Start your club or riding school page. If you started from a Horsify "Start free" link, the sign-up page says "Running a club or riding school? Create your own account below, then you'll set up your organisation." and takes you there once your account exists.

Sign In With an Emailed Code

This is the quickest way for most people.

  1. Click Sign In. You'll be on the Sign in tab.
  2. Enter your Email and click Email me a sign-in code.
  3. Check your inbox for an email titled 123456 is your Horsify sign-in code, where the number is your code. You can often read the code straight from the subject line or the notification, without opening the email. It can take a minute or two to arrive.
  4. Enter the code under Enter your 6-digit code and click Verify & sign in.

The email may also have a Sign in instantly button, which signs you in without typing the code.

Good to know about codes:

  • A code lasts 10 minutes and works once.
  • Didn't get it? Wait a moment, then click Resend code (it becomes available 30 seconds after the last code was sent).
  • If you've verified a mobile number on your account, you'll also see Text me the code instead.
  • Typed the wrong address? Click Use a different email.
  • If you enter an email that doesn't have an account yet, Horsify asks for Your name and your agreement to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, then creates your account when you click Create account & sign in.

Sign In With a Passkey

If you've set up a passkey, click Sign in with a passkey at the top of the Sign in tab and confirm with your fingerprint, face or device PIN. No code, no password. See Sign In with a Passkey for how to set one up and manage it.

Sign In With a Password

If your account has a password, you can still use it:

  1. On the Sign in tab, click Prefer a password? Sign in with your password.
  2. Enter your Email and Password, then click Sign In.

To go back to codes, click Sign in with a code instead.

Accounts created with an emailed code don't have a password. If you'd like one, use Forgot password? on the password screen to set it.

Forgot your password?

Click Forgot password? on the password screen. We'll send you a code to set a new one. The full steps are in the Password Reset Guide. You can also skip the password and sign in with an emailed code instead.

Two-Step Sign-In (for Club Admins and Some Staff)

If you're an admin of a club or riding school, or staff whose access needs it, Horsify asks for a second step after your code or password: a code from an authenticator app or a text message. You can tick Remember this device for 28 days so you aren't asked every time on your own computer. Setup and recovery codes are explained in MFA Enhancements.

Troubleshooting

The code email hasn't arrived

  • It can take a minute or two to arrive. Give it that long before asking for another code.
  • Search your mailbox for Horsify sign-in code.
  • Check your spam or junk folder, and any "Promotions" or "Updates" tab.
  • Check you typed your email correctly. If not, click Use a different email.
  • Click Resend code once it's available. Only the newest code works, so use the latest email.
  • If you've verified a mobile number, try Text me the code instead.

"That code has expired" or "Incorrect code"

Codes last 10 minutes. After 5 wrong tries you'll see "Too many incorrect attempts. Please request a new code." In either case, click Resend code and use the newest code.

"Invalid email or password"

The email or password doesn't match. Check for typos, then try Forgot password?, or sign in with an emailed code instead. If you created your account with a code, you won't have a password yet.

"Your account has been locked"

After 5 wrong passwords in a row, your account is locked for 15 minutes to keep it safe. Wait 15 minutes and try again. If you still see the message, email support@horsify.com.au.

"Your Horsify account email is not verified yet"

This can happen with some accounts that sign in with a password. Click Resend verification email under the message and follow the link in the email. Signing in with an emailed code also confirms your email.

I'm not sure which email I used

Try each email address you might have used with Email me a sign-in code. If none of them work, email support@horsify.com.au from the address you think it is, and we'll help.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a password? No. Most people sign in with an emailed code or a passkey. You can add a password later with Forgot password? if you'd like one.

I accidentally used Create account but I already have an account. Is that a problem? No. Horsify only allows one account per email address, so entering the code signs you into your existing account.

Where do I change my sign-in settings? Open your profile menu and choose Account & security. That's where you manage passkeys, two-step sign-in and your password.

What happens to my children if I delete my account? The delete account page shows how many riders are on your family list before you confirm. When the account is deleted:

  • A child who has no record with any club or riding school is deleted with your account.
  • A child a club or riding school has on its books stays on that organisation's books, because their lessons, entries, waivers and any incident report are records the organisation must keep. The health notes, emergency contact and phone number you entered on your family list are removed, and the school can see the child no longer has a parent on record.
  • A rider another parent or guardian also manages, or who has a login of their own, is left as they are.
