My Day: Your Lessons and Checking Riders In

Watch: a coach's day in under a minute

▶ Watch the one-minute walkthrough

Overview

My day is the coach's page: your lessons for one day, built to be used on a phone while you're standing in the arena. Everything you need for the rider in front of you (their horse, their notes, whether their waiver is signed, what they owe) and the one-tap actions that belong to you: Check in, No show, Complete.

Confirming, cancelling, moving a lesson and anything to do with refunds stays with the office, because each of those has money or a message attached that shouldn't fire from a mis-tap at the gate.

Getting there

When you sign in as an instructor, Horsify opens My day for you. To get back to it at any time:

  • On a phone: tap the small tab with an arrow (‹) at the top right of the screen to open the menu, then tap My day.
  • On a computer: open the menu under your name at the top right and choose My day.

You can also go straight to horsify.com.au/riding-school/my-day. If you coach at more than one school, a picker at the top lets you switch.

The phone menu open, with My day highlighted

My day has two views on a phone: Day (your lessons) and Week (your rostered shifts, jobs and timesheet, which used to be the separate My Shifts page). On a tablet or computer, coaches who are members of the school also see Calendar and Availability.

If you see "You're not set up as an instructor or on a staff roster yet", ask your manager to add you under Instructors or Staff using the same email address as your Horsify login. The page shows you which address that is.

Reading your day

Use the arrows to move a day at a time, or Today to come back. Each lesson shows the start time and length, the rider (and their age, for juniors), the lesson type, the horse and the arena, plus a status badge.

A red Now line is drawn across the day at the current time, and the lesson you're on is outlined so it stands out. Finished lessons fade back. Only your own lessons appear.

If a rider has no horse allocated yet, a warning names them at the top of the day, so you find out before they arrive, not when you're tacking up.

Opening a lesson

Tap a lesson and a sheet slides up with:

  • Call and Text buttons for the rider (or their parent, for a junior), for when someone hasn't turned up.
  • Horse, with Change to allocate or swap one.
  • Rider: their level, whether their waiver is signed, and a link to their progress record.
  • Notes: what the rider asked for, your note for this lesson, and your note from last lesson.
  • Payment: anything still owing.

Checking a rider in

When the rider arrives, tap Check in. That's it: the lesson shows Checked In. Nothing is emailed or texted to the rider; they're standing in front of you.

On the lesson you're currently on, Check in and No show also appear straight on the card in the day list, so you don't have to open anything.

Finishing the lesson

  • Complete lesson: marks it done, and lets you add a lesson note at the same time. The note saves to the rider's progress record and is staff-only; riders (and parents, for a junior) don't see it. It's what you'll be shown as "last lesson" next time.
  • No show: for a rider who didn't arrive. You'll be asked to confirm. The office handles any charge or credit.
  • For a group lesson, Complete lesson for everyone checked in finishes the whole group at once.

No signal in the arena

My day keeps the last day it loaded. Out of range, you still see your lessons with a banner saying so, and check-ins you make are queued (a counter shows how many changes are waiting) and sent as soon as you're back in signal.
