Auto-Link Member to Rider Profile

Overview

When an organisation admin saves a member record, Horsify automatically checks whether a registered Horsify rider account exists with the same email address. If a match is found, the member record is linked to that rider profile — and any pending membership applications from that rider are also linked. This reduces duplicate accounts and ensures that riders who register on Horsify are automatically recognised as members of their club.

Auto-linking runs whenever a member is created or updated — no manual action is needed.

Who Should Use This Feature

Perfect For

  • Club administrators managing members who are also Horsify platform users
  • Association admins wanting to ensure member records are linked to rider profiles for event registration

Prerequisites

  • You must be an admin of your organisation
  • Auto-linking occurs automatically — no manual action is required beyond saving the member record

How It Works

Automatic Matching

When a member is saved, the system:

  1. Looks up any existing Horsify rider account whose email exactly matches the member's email address (case-insensitive)
  2. If a match is found, links the member record to that rider account
  3. Also links any pending membership applications from that rider to the member record

Signup Auto-Link

A complementary auto-link also runs when a new rider signs up to Horsify. Sign-up searches for unlinked member records and membership applications matching the new rider's email and links them as the account is created.

Key Benefits

Scenario Outcome
Rider signs up → already a club member Member record linked on signup
Club adds member → rider already has account Member linked when admin saves record
Rider submits membership application → linked member record exists Applications linked to member on save
