- Riders: View results and competition standings
- Admins: Oversee results across all events
Key Features

How to Use
Entering Results
- Navigate to Event Management > Results
- Select the event and class
- Enter results for each competitor:
- Placing/score
- Time (if applicable)
- Faults (if applicable)
- Judge notes
- Save results
Working from a Scoring Sheet
If you're recording scores on paper or in a spreadsheet on the day:
- Download a fillable scoring sheet from the Results page — it comes out pre-filled with your entrants.
- Record the day's scores in it.
- Click Import results and follow the import wizard, which lets you review the matches before anything is saved.
If an import goes wrong, clear the provisional results and start again — finalised results are left untouched.
Auto-Place a Class
For a class that's scored rather than placed by hand, Auto-place works out the placings from the scores for you. Classes where the judge assigns positions directly are left alone.
Finalising
Mark all provisional results as final publishes a whole class at once when you're satisfied with it.
Managing Running Orders
- Go to Event Schedule
- Create or edit schedule
- Assign competitors to time slots
- Drag to reorder if needed
- Publish running order
Viewing Results
For Organisers:
- Access full results dashboard
- Edit/update results
- Publish to riders
For Riders:
- View published results
- Access running orders
- Track personal performance
Result Calculation
Scoring Types
Each competition class has a scoring type, which decides how placings are worked out. Horsify sets it from the class's discipline and it can't be changed — there's no scoring-type control on the class. If a class is being placed the wrong way round, the discipline on the class is what to correct.
| Scoring type | How it places | Typical disciplines |
|---|---|---|
| Judge places | The judge assigns positions directly; nothing is calculated | Showing, show horse, hacking, lead rein, showmanship, pleasure |
| Highest score wins | Best score first | Dressage, para dressage, western dressage, reining, campdraft, cutting, working equitation, Extreme Cowboy Racing, stockman's challenge |
| Fewest penalties wins | Fewest faults first, with time as the tiebreaker | Show jumping |
| Fastest time wins | Quickest time first | Endurance, barrel racing, sporting, harness and thoroughbred racing |
| Combined score | Dressage score plus cross-country and show-jumping penalties | Eventing, tetrathlon |
| Most points wins | Highest points total | Series and team events, Pony Club |
Dressage is highest score wins, not lowest. The percentage a rider earns is their score, and the highest percentage takes the class.
Editing a dressage ride the judges scored in Horsify
Once a judge has submitted a ride's score sheet, the sheet is the record, and the ride's percentage and placing come from it.
- Ticking Eliminated, Retired or Scratched, or setting the status to Disqualified, takes the ride out of the placings, and everyone below it moves up straight away. Undoing it puts them back.
- The percentage can't be changed here. Reopen the sheet in Dressage scoring, correct the marks and submit it again. The same goes for an elimination the judge's sheet records (three errors of course).
- The result can't be deleted while its sheets are submitted. Tick Scratched to take the ride out of the placings, or reopen and delete its sheets in Dressage scoring first.
A ride judged on paper, whose sheet in Horsify was never submitted, is edited like any other result: what you type is what's shown.
Classes placed by the judge can't be auto-placed — that's the point of them.
Getting Results In and Out
Dressage results can be exported; other results can't. On the event's Dressage scoring page, Export CSV downloads a spreadsheet of every submitted score sheet: one row per judge's sheet, with the placing, test, rider, horse, competitor number, judge, marks, percentage, errors of course, technical faults and whether the ride was eliminated or scratched. Sheets still in draft are left out. For any other discipline there is no button that downloads finished results as a PDF or a spreadsheet, for organisers or for riders. To keep a copy or hand results to a sponsor, use your browser's own Print command on the results page and save it as a PDF.
What the Download button on the results page does give you is the opposite direction: a fillable scoring sheet. It's a spreadsheet built from your event's entries — one row per rider, horse and division, with blank score columns — so a scorer can fill it in away from the screen and you can import it straight back with Import scores. It contains no results; it's a blank form.
Riders see their own results in My Results and on the event's public results page.
Publishing Results
Results move through Pending → Provisional → Final.
You choose who sees provisional scores, per event, with the event's provisional results setting:
- Riders only (the default) — a rider sees their own provisional result under My Results; the public results page stays finalised-only.
- Organisers only — nothing is visible to anyone outside your admins until you finalise. Use this when scores shouldn't be known before the presentation.
- Public — provisional results appear on the public results page as they're judged, badged as provisional, so scores live-update for riders and spectators.
Whichever you choose, finalising a class publishes it.
When Riders Are Told
- A rider is told about a result once, ever. If your event announces provisional scores publicly, riders hear then — and finalising that same result sends nothing further. If you keep provisional scores private, they hear when you finalise.
- Notifications go to the app first. A rider with the app installed gets a push notification. Riders with no app get a text instead, if your organisation has results SMS switched on.
- A rider's results for one event are collapsed into a single message, so finalising someone's whole day is one notification rather than three.
- Results notifications ignore quiet hours deliberately — a score is news at 9pm and stale at 7am.
Integration with Other Features
Season leaderboard
Finalised results automatically feed your organisation's season leaderboard, which builds standings across your events for the year with no extra setup.
Event series
A series leaderboard is not rebuilt automatically. Standings are built from finalised results that carry Series Points, and only when an admin clicks Recalculate standings on the series. Finalise the results, then recalculate — see Event Series & Leaderboards and Event Series & Championships.
Notifications
- See When Riders Are Told above
Entry lists
- Running order matches the entry list
- Competitor and horse details are carried through automatically\n\n---\n\nSource:
