Horsify works for pony clubs, riding clubs, and horse associations alike. This guide gives a quick overview of the pony-club-specific settings and the membership tools your club uses day to day. For step-by-step instructions, see Member Management.
Setting your club type
On your organisation profile you can set a Club Type — for example Pony Club, Riding Club, or Horse Association. The club type appears as a badge on your organisation's public listing and on each member's dashboard, so riders can see what kind of club they belong to.
Managing members
Members are managed from Organiser → Members. From there you can:
- See your members filtered by status (All, Active, Pending, Expired), with each member's name, membership status, membership number, join date, and expiry date.
- Invite new members by email. Invitations are secure, single-use, and expire after 7 days (you can resend to extend). You can set a member's type, membership number, and expiry before sending. A rider who already has a Horsify account is added to your club immediately; a new rider gets an invitation to join.
- Approve or decline riders who have applied to join.
- Edit a member's status, role, membership number, expiry date, and committee/admin flag.
- Remove members from your club.
Members can belong to more than one club, and each rider sees all of their memberships — with club type, membership number, and a colour-coded status — on their rider dashboard.
Membership fees and numbers
- Membership fees: set up as many fee types as you need (for example Junior, Adult, or Affiliate), each with its own amount and description. Each club keeps its own independent fee list. Members can pay online by card, and Horsify records the payment against their membership.
-
Membership numbers: assign numbers manually, or turn on automatic generation to issue sequential numbers with a short club prefix (for example
PONY12001,PONY12002). - Renewal reminders are sent automatically as a membership approaches its expiry date.
Family and dependant members
Guardians can manage dependants (such as children) under their own account, so a parent can hold memberships and enter events on behalf of their kids. See Dependent and Child Membership.
